Then PSN is throwing a hissy fit again with some users unable to sign and those that are may find they can’t get into multiplayer games, Bungie have already tweeted they are investigating the errors.
We are actively investigating issues impacting players' ability to sign in to Destiny on PlayStation 4.
— Bungie Help (@BungieHelp) December 29, 2014
According to the official status page the network is up but there is “Intermittent Connectivity” due to the high volume of traffic. It doesn’t appear to be DDOS attack at the moment so if you are signed in, stay signed in.
Feel free to bitch and moan about Sony in the comments section as per usual.

Sony are probably trying to create an open beta for pre-release of a driving game, something which is often considered impossible.

Or 2k have released the next installment of stare at the scary dinosaur, aka evolve
JR.
This is an outrage! How can they do this to us?!? I do not pay TWO whole pounds a month for this service just so I can come home from a hard day at the office and not be able to play Destiny. It’s a disgrace. And so what if I dont actually own Destiny anymore because I traded it in. The fact that I couldnt play Destiny if I did have it makes me so angry I could just, I could just, die. Right here in the bread isle at asda. In fact, im going to go home and rip my ps4 out of the wall socket and throw it in the trash where it belongs. Recycling be damned. That’s how angry I am. Screw the environment! Then im going to buy a pc and become a pc gamer and feel really good about myself because im the best. The end.

I agree.. wee
Need to push for complementary content
The Lone Steven
TWO POUNDS!? Those greedy funts! They can go Cuck themselves for having a service that doesn’t work every once in a while! Feck Sony, i’m buying an atari 5200! At least that works!
Smallville2106
I didn’t even realise it was back up as it’s been down since the DDOS attacks for me.
dizwod
Have you tried changing the MTU on your internet settings? supposedly that resolves it.. mine worked fine without doing anything though
wonkey-willy
That’s OK dizzy if you know what you are doing, but the average user probably doesn’t know how to get under the Hood .we really shouldn’t have to do anything,it should all fall in the capable hands of that multi billion pound company,Sony.Xbox live was back up relatively quickly from what I could see.but I can’t moan I have only had minor issues with call of duty matchmaking.
dizwod
I agree, but its a work around and internet settings are too technical if your only changing one thing. Like i said mine worked without changing anything not that ive been using PS for a while
ABlokeCalledDaz
It’s going up and down more than my ex wifes knickers
leeroye
The fact is it was never really fixed as the vast majority of people still couldnt get on without changing MTU settings, that in my mind at least is not fixed.
Carrot381
I’ve managed an hour of PvZ since xmas day. Other than that not managed to connect at all. Fortunately my disc version of Dragon Age came to the rescue.
homerjnick
According to various sources it is just the aftermath of the attack and just high traffic from actual Playstations…the fact the Vita & PS3 are fine and just the PS4 that is struggling tens to back that claim up since there are a ton of new PS4’s connecting up.
But for me I’ve had no issues in the last two days on my PS4, played multiplayer games fine. No MTU tweak required.
Flightx
Its y2k all over again
BryOnRye
It’s worse than that, it’s y2k x Pi
MrYd
Y2K again? Oh no! I can’t wait for the “What did we spend all that money on? Nothing happened!” comments.
Yes, 14 years later and it still pisses me off how stupid that sort of comment is. When I invent a time machine, I’ll go back in time and tell everyone not to bother fixing it, it won’t be appreciated. (And possibly remind a younger me to watch out for the Unix billenium problem. That week in September 2001 was a nightmare)
MrYd
I demand compensation! A couple of full PS4 games should do. I can’t see anything going wrong when millions of PS4 owners download 50+ gig from the PSN.
Also, I demand a laser pony.
And they should send Shuhei Yoshida to visit every Playstation owner and patronise them lightly on the head saying “There there, it’s all working now”. I think he’d be good at that.
homerjnick
Sony’s T&C’s on PS+ say that they can take down the service at any time and for as long as they want. We all agreed to those terms…thus I highly doubt any compensation will be given.
MrYd
But where am I going to get a laser pony from!!!
Avenger
Yeah, but who cares about that when the competition is doing a better job networking. Perhaps Sony should care, perhaps.
MrYd
Didn’t MS do a better job over christmas of saying it was all working fine when that wasn’t quite true? They were to first to announce “It’s all working now!” to cries of “Er, no, that’s not quite true, is it?”
Actually, what they were claiming was “It’s working, except for a couple of video apps”. Which really shouldn’t be affected by XBL going titsup, should it?
rossthebassist
Disruption was always going to happen over christmas this year, how long have mobiles been out and the networks still melt over xmas and new year.
the login problem appears to have been a destiny login issue and not a PSN problem because PSN was fine for me all day, it was only destiny that was having a hissy for me.
camdaz
Haven’t been able to access any of the online features since it was first attacked.
camdaz
Seems to be working fine now.
