Well, there you go – Titanfall 2 exists and it will be a multiplatform release, presumably launching on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Respawn CEO Vince Zampella confirmed the news, stating that while there’s no official name yet, it’s the main focus of the studio at the moment.
“I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don’t know anything about it, or… yeah. So we’re working on a sequel. No official name yet, but we’re working on that. That’s the main focus but we’re starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It’ll be multiplatform.”
The decision for Titanfall to be an Xbox console exclusive was purely from a business sense, Zampella confirmed, but they “needed that” for the game to come to fruition. He then went on to defend the first game’s multiplayer-only approach, stating that they “wouldn’t have done it differently”.
It also looks like DLC maps for the second Titanfall game might be free, rather than splitting the community, with Zampella praising Evolve’s approach and stating that while they can’t confirm that’s how it’ll be, their idea is “to do something different”.

Imagine if Titanfall 2 has a better resolution on the PS4. Oh the shame!
I think the internet might explode.

In an alternative universe where Xbox one was selling like hotcakes and the PS4 had tanked worse than even the most conservative expectations, and titanfail was a ps4 exclusive forced to go multiplatform, can you imagine the Microsoft gloating that would be spewing itself across the internet.
Yet in this universe, Sony are doing the honourable thing and not laughing (not in public, anyway)

Even you must admit the xboxone turned it around better than was expected last year? Its still selling faster than the 360 & ps3 did.

I’m pretty sure he won’t admit that. But yes, MS are doing better than some would like to admit. Competition is good for consumers so that’s good news whether you love or hate them.

Indeed, as much as some would love Sony to be the sole competitor it would be a bad situation for all gamers. Monopolies never work in the favour of the customer.
