Ubisoft have launched sign-ups for the closed alpha of Rainbow Six: Siege, which is coming to Europe and North America and will be exclusive to PC. There has been no timeline announced as of yet and Ubisoft have said that the alpha will take roughly 7-8GB of space and will require a UPlay account in order to participate.
The required system specs for the alpha are as follows:
- OS: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, x64
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core
- CPU Speed: 3.3 GHz (Recommended), 2.6 GHz (Minimum)
- RAM: 8GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 / R9 280 X
- VRAM: 2GB
Ubisoft are keen to stress that these will not be the final system specs required to play the final product. The specs should be lower once the game has been fully tested and optimised. Follow this link to sign up for the alpha test. If you’re on the fence about participating, check out our preview from a few months back to get a better idea of what to expect.

PC players will be reasonably happy after some terrible PC games from Ubisoft.
The GPU required is crazy. AMD 7970 is 3.7 Teraflops of compute power. PS4 + X1 added together is only 3.1!

I’m sure it will eventually come to all territories, what better way is there to give it a proper test.
