And with that, the F1 season is finally under way. The cars have truly been driven in anger for the first time, showing off their ultimate pace in the qualifying shootout in Melbourne. Except I’ve not seen it yet (this is being written the evening before after all), so I don’t know and can’t spoil the result for any of you.
Elsewhere in the sporting world, there’s a pair of big, potentially championship deciding matched in the rugby, as Wales take on Ireland and Scotland travel to Twickenham to battle England. Will it all be as good as won today, or will there be nervous tallying of points difference this time next week?
Oh, and probably some football too…
It’s been a little while, but we’ve got a new competition running this week on TSA. OlliOlli 2 is the battleground this time around, with setting your highest possible score on the third level the target in the cross-hairs. To get the best though, you’ll need to be learning the more advanced tricks from later in the game.
With 10 little OlliOlli 2 branded fingerboards, a trio of tshirts and a £10 PSN voucher for the top dog up for grabs, make sure to at least have a quick go to see if OlliOlli 2 is the right game for you.

There aren’t any meets posted lately, but there has been a lot of buzz surrounding GTA V of late. Especially now that heists have been added to the online game, there are plenty of people dipping in and out of the game.
But let us get some meet posted, shall we? You just need 250 TSA points to start creating them over here.
In this crazily busy month of game releases, we’ve had a whole host of game reviews this week. It started off with a 5, a 6 and a 7/10 respectively for roguelike firefighting game Flame Over, fast paced isometric shooter LA Cops and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars.
LA Cops had to face off against its inspiration, as Hotline Miami 2 arrived with a 7/10, not quite matching the original. Meanwhile Cities: Skylines reignited the city builder genre with a great 8/10 that it can build on over the coming months. Things were rounded off with a review of the third episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 and its 7/10, and the interesting sounding card-based game Hand of Fate, which Jim awarded an 8/10.
Blair took a critical look at the Valley of the Yetis DLC for Far Cry 4, with Tuffcub going hands on and comparing DmC:Definitive Edition to the game’s original release last generation. Jim made his offerings to the gods of football in the iOS game Striker Arena, while I delivered the only preview of the week, as I applied my abject lack of knowledge of fighting games to Mortal Kombat X.
With GTA V’s Heist mode finally making its way into the game after months of delays, Blair and a motley crew of TSA folk struggled with the servers as it went live earlier this week, while TC took on the topic of style over substance within White Night. We also have a series of daily blogs (currently with days 0, 1 and 2) from Kris, thanks to his adventures at EGX Rezzed.
The verdict was delivered on The Crew in WeView, with a rather dismal judgement handed down. It’s replaced in the hotseat by Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishment, so get your comments in soon. The Chronicle last week sampled such topics as Virtual Reality at GDC, PS4 Firmware 2.50 and Rock Band 4.
Finally, we have the regular What We Played #194, which featured GTA V, OlliOlli 2 & Hand Of Fate, and the 172nd Podcast was all about House of Card, Resogun and Hotline Miami.

There’s a fair few discussions going on in the forums this week:
- JustTaylorNow wants to know what TV shows you’re watching.
- Youles wants to get more of the aforementioned GTA V meets going, what with the new heists online.
- Cam_manutd is after a little help in finishing off a few incomplete trophy lists in his backlog.
- Taylor’s back to reignite the Dying Light co-op bug thread with a little more information on what might be going wrong.
Right, that’s your lot for today. I’ll be back with the Chronicle tomorrow, as we look at some of the headline flashpoints of the week and what you’ve all been up to with your gaming time.
