Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Getting Physical Release On PS4 And PC

Bethesda Softworks have confirmed that Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will see a physical release on PS4 and PC on 15th May, a week after the digital edition launches.

The Xbox One and PC digital versions will be available over a week earlier on 5th May, with the PS4 version available to download a day later.

Xbox One is notably absent from this announcement of physical releases, which are only confirmed for Europe so far, with Bethesda saying “Availability at retail will vary by territory but currently, our plans only include physical versions for PC and PS4. Should anything change, we will let fans know.”

The Old Blood is a standalone prequel to The New Order, the digital version of the game will cost £14.99. However, Bethesda is yet to confirm how much the physical edition of the game will cost.

  1. It can’t be sales-related surely, as there will be more sales on X1 than PC PHYSICALLY.

    • It’s an odd choice to release a physical version for PS4 but not X1. They most likely will release a physical version for X1, especially now as they may get some grumbles from X1 owners.

      • I would say it makes. More sales of PS4 in EU makes it worth while to release a physical copy.

    • The cost of producing a physical Xbox version may not make sense vs the install base.

      • But the xboxone version sold more than the PC version so why make that then? And the install base has grown since WTNO was released.

  2. Lara Croft Temple of Osiris had the same thing, physical release only on PS & PC in Europe. Publishers must think us xbox owners prefer digital.

  3. I would say it makes. More sales of PS4 in EU makes it worth while to release a physical copy.

    • Well the PC version sold less physically than the Xboxone version so it doesn’t make sense really. Should be Xboxone physical not PC if it was based on sales.

  4. After the PlayStation Mobile treatment I think I’ll get as much on disc as I can for my PS4. Really looking forward to this too. This, Borderlands and State of Decay on XB1 fill in my April/May gaming
