Bloodborne Patch To Address Long Load Times In The Works

Sony has confirmed that From Software are currently working on a patch to address the lengthy loading times in the game that have been one of the major points of criticism in an otherwise very positive release.

They explained that “The development team is currently exploring another patch for Bloodborne, seeking ways to improve load time duration, in addition to other performance optimisations and miscellaneous bug fixes.” There was no solid word on a date with Sony saying, “We will provide more information as soon as possible.”

Despite the loading times which have been mentioned in a number of reviews, Bloodborne has been receiving a lot of praise according to our review round-up, as well as receiving a lot of love from us here at TSA in the Road to Review for the game. However, Aran did pick up on the long waiting times:

“One major and persistent problem in Bloodborne and that is with the load times. After you die you’re sent to a screen with the title etched across it, and you’ll be waiting here for a good 30 seconds at least. I counted to make sure. It can really pull you out of the experience, but you can also use that same time to regroup and think of tactics.”

So, whether you’re in the US and have been able to buy the game today or are eagerly awaiting the EU and UK releases later this week, look out for more news about the patch soon.

  1. Good news, might have to get this, even though the difficulty will probably break me.

On an unrelated note, those fucking new ads at the bottom of articles are driving me fucking insane, they get right in the way and im constantly clicking them by accident

…no i fucking do not want to buy some piss poor peice of shite kim kardashian game! Sweet jesus noooo!

    • Oh my god man I was about to hijack an article to rant about these new pop up ads, they are seriously the most annoying pop ups I have encountered in a long time, my frustration stems mainly from the fact that I veiw TSA on either the wifes tablet or my phone and the tiny, so so tiny x button is effing hard to click.

Come on TSA, I understand ye’s need revenue from the ads but could you get rid of that horrible intrusive pop up ad and place it somewhere a little more subtle.

      • It’s alright, guys, we’re working to get them banished. Of course, you’ve been hoisted on your own petard, since they seem to be mobile OS only.

      • Yeah my iphone be showing Kim’s fat ass or boobzilla. Could be worse I guess.

      • Adblock does the trick. ;-)

      • I’m just happy to know the matter is being taken care of , but it’s amusing how something so small can sometimes really get our f**king goat up! :D

      • Not to be picky, but I’m also experiencing a glitch where it zooms out on the mobile version after you scroll past the headline article at the top of the home page. I then zoom back in, but as soon as you scroll anywhere it zooms out again.
I’m tempted to give in and give the Kim K game a go, how bad can it be?

    • Yes very annoying!

      • Glad it’s not just me, and glad it’s being looked into. Pop up ads like that are so annoying!

  2. Good, we moved to mandatory installs to reduce load-times. I was planning on picking this up after finishing the previous games, but now I’m leaning towards using it as a springboard to attempt at getting hooked in the series. I’ll wait for the patch first though.

  3. Maybe I’ll wait for Dark Souls 2 remastered for hopefully a lot less money, as I’m keen to get into this type of game, but I’m put of by the difficulty.
