Microsoft decided that Sunday afternoon/evening was the perfect time to announce the launch date for Halo 5: Guardians, and did so alongside two different trailers for their upcoming flagship shooter.
Both trailers include the Master Chief, and Commander Locke from the Halo Nightfall TV series, as their paths will apparently cross in Halo 5’s campaign. We won’t spoil the finer details of the trailers but we will say that they’re eerily similar, yet very different. At the end of both trailers, a release date of October 27, 2015 is shown. That’s a Tuesday, so that might just be the North American release, but we’re uncertain at this time.

Roll on October, these trailers are amazing!

They were shown during The Walking Dead (final episode?). Which explains the Sunday.
October is a good month though, any later would be foolish with Battlefront and Call of Duty coming in November.
Starman
Good time to release it, just before the gaming season starts. Hopefully the online works at release this time.

I don’t see much reason to worry. They’ve held a massive beta almost a year ahead, which worked just fine. Halo 4 online worked too.
MCC only suffered because it was developed by multiple studios and combined four different engines with too little development-time. And hey, it’s working now, so they’ve learned.
Starman
Yeah it should work fine, I think they were just a bit too ambitious with the MCC’s multiplayer.

I’m really liking the direction they’re taking with the story in Halo 5. Seems to be getting pretty dark. Looking forward to the release in October now.

Best get cracking on the MCC. Didn’t rate the first one but enjoying the second one a lot more.

Turns out the size of the Halo 5 beta was 10.27GB… How about that? :-o

Agree with Wick’s comment above. It seems as though 343 have not just continued Halo but somewhat rebooted it with a darker and more gritty feel. I can’t wait to play Halo 4 when I get home in the Summer.

Hmmm, i’m undecided, I was just getting into Halo 1 but now I’m stuck on the library section….

That’s the infamous part we all love to hate. Make sure to take it slow, keep your distance from the enemies. Always carry a shotgun for when things get rough.
Halo is more fun and far easier in co-op (you can take turns being a spawnpoint), so that’s something you should consider to get through. The final level is great, so keep at it.
