Happy Friday to all you fine chaps out there and welcome once again to a little piece we like to call ‘What We Played’. If you’re new here, you probably weren’t able to guess what this piece is about by reading the title, so we’ll go ahead and explain it. Each week we like to take the time to speak with our readers about what games we’ve all been playing, so we compile our stories and put them here each Friday. Cool? Right, let’s dive right in.
Blair was the first to check in this week and he was quick to mention a little game called Tower of Guns. He’s played a lot of it in the past week and described it as both addictive and fun, and something he hopes he can continue to play. If you’re interested in reading more about Tower of Guns, Blair took the time to jot down a few of his thoughts here.
Next up is Tuffcub, who started his week with Destiny, a staple in his weekly game queue. He also popped in Killzone: Shadow Fall, one of his favorite multiplayer games of this generation, but he hasn’t been entirely thrilled with some of the changes they’ve made to the competitive multiplayer over time. Finally, he played the Planetside 2 beta, which he didn’t seem to be a big fan of.
Next we move on to Dom, who might’ve played the most games of any of us this week. He began with Neverwinter on Xbox One, which you’ll be hearing more about in the very near future. Next he dabbled in Forza Horizon 2’s new Fast & Furious expansion, which proved to be a great way to revisit his favorite racing game from last year. As for what else Dom played, I’ll let him explain the rest.
I’ve been catching up on Telltales Game Of Thrones, which is so true to its source due to the fact there are no good options. I’ve also been working through Codename STEAM for review, which has led to me ‘having’ to buy an extra amiibo, just to properly test it of course.
Stefan also hit the sticks this week, starting with a load of Driveclub over the weekend, which partially inspired the piece he just wrote about Evolution Studios and their future. Next up was Stealth Inc. 2, which just dropped for a gaggle of new platforms, so he took the time to contrast the differences between them and Wii U version of the game he reviewed last year. He ended his week by dipping his toe in a bit of Destiny, just for old time’s sake.
I mentioned last week that I built a new gaming PC, or was in the process of doing so, so I’ve been spending a lot of my time with games on Steam. I thought Portal 2 was the perfect game to submerse myself back into PC gaming with, and its very conservative hardware requirements allowed me test out my fancy new 144hz monitor. After that I moved on to BioShock Infinite, which I’d been craving to replay for awhile, and I’ve already nearly reached the end of it. Finally I played and reviewed the Fast & Furious expansion for Forza Horizon 2, which I quite enjoyed despite not being a huge fan of Forza Horizon 2 itself.
So that’s it for another week. As always, thanks for taking the time to read about what we’ve been playing, and please be sure to head to the comments and share with us what you’ve been spending time with.

A few bits and pieces for me this week.
– Finished up another couple of levels in Bayonetta 1. Just the final chapter and epilogue to go, then the real fun begins with the higher difficulties and those Bewitchment challenges.
– Won a copy of NES Remix this week in a competition so I’ve been playing that off and on. Not a bad little game really. Bit slow to get going but I can’t deny I’ve been enjoying some of the Remix stages. Getting 3 stars on each stage is going to take a while.
– Ranked up a few more times in BLOPS2. Still a healthy player count in the evenings which is nice. Fingers crossed we see a WiiU version of BLOPS3.
– Played some ZombiU multiplayer with my brother earlier this week and really enjoyed that. Such a simple concept but it feels surprisingly balanced. Shame we are unlikely to see a sequel :(
– Mario Kart 8 tonight with a few mates. Looking forward to that a lot.

Played some Dying Light co-op with Forrest, berzerka and Pixel_nme … and will probably do some more later tonight.
Got stuck into Axiom Verge over the weekend and got the platinum on Monday.
Played some The Crew on Monday evening with Forrest and Pixel_nme to get the main story finished for Forrest then we moved onto some Borderlands 2 co-op.
Played a load of Tower of Guns, fun little game (unfortunately the trophies for unlocking all guns and perks are glitched but they are working on a patch).
Revisited Diablo 3 as it has some new content (bounties, legendary items and treasure goblins).

How did you get the patch for ToG? It’s killing me I can’t unlock those two. I have all guns unlocked, but there seems to be a glitch preventing me from unlocking the last perk I need. I did a run and acquired 40+ badges, which I only need 15 to unlock the perk, but nothing happened.
Forrest_01
He didn’t say he had the patch, he said that they were working on it.
I haven’t played it yet & am debating whether to start or wait to see if said patch actually appears any time soon.

Mostly Battlefield Hardline; GTA5 Heists (PS4); and a touch of Dying Light.
This will probably be the case for the next month until Project CARS comes, although possibly adding CoD Advanced Warfare into the mix as I picked it up for £23.61 today.

DriveClub – The latest Season Pass Tour Events. I’m liking those Lamborghini’s.
GTA V Online – Preparing for another heist.
HellDivers – Which I’m really enjoying, but only in short instalments. Over an hour and I get a bit bored.
Battlefield 4 – Thought I’d get back into it as I haven’t played it for a while & I don’t fancy Hardline which pretty much means I’ll be on this for at least another year, or until Rainbow 6 arrives – If it’s any good that is. I also got my arse kicked!!!
I think I need to get some practice in this weekend and get back up to scratch.
Never Alone – I like the visual style of the game but i had to delete it after about an hour as it’s just bloody annoying. Jumping around with a fox then having to wait for platforms etc seems more like a chore than puzzle solving.

Cleaned up the SP trophies for COD:AW, dunno whether I can be bothered going for the survival trophies tho’.
Finally got the DriveClub platinum too. Also started AC:Unity although it’s my first AC and TBH I have no idea what is going on or where I’m supposed to go next! I do like the little asides/comments in the encyclopaedia tho’, make me chuckle.

Played through Battlefield 4’s campaign in one go after finding it had lost my progress again when I was halfway through. How has this not been fixed still?!
hornet1990
I haven’t even started it because of that, although with 2.5s suspend/resume I might be tempted to try it; I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if BF4 was the one game it doesn’t work with tho’!

I decided to go through the single player campaign again about a month back as I lost my save progress when it was first released and never bothered replaying the levels I’d already done. Went to continue about 2 weeks ago and lost it again from only a month ago. Last I heard they’ve no plans for fixing it. Unbelievable!

Utter shits, dev/Sony support of this kind is unacceptable. I don’t even have the game but feel that you guys have been short sold!
Forrest_01
Thought that save bug was only an issue when you mixed multiplayer & singleplayer though?
Not that I am excusing/dismissing it of course, but could you not just play through the singleplayer at your own pace, but just remember not to head online?
Starman
On the battlelog forums EA apparently said it was fixed despite their being pages of complaints saying otherwise. They should’ve just put a level select in if they couldn’t figure out how to fix it.

The usual weekly/Tuesday updated Grid Autosport Racenet challenges, GT6 meet and a healthy dose of SuperMario 64 on Wii-U’s Virtual console, oh and a few rounds of Resogun PS3 Veteran mode….not getting far on the last planet so tough!!
freezebug2
Also made a start on NFS Rivals PS4 complete edition which I picked up on my US account for $9.99…that must mean that it’s patched? I jest of course, it’ll likely have a the DLC’s included…bargain!

Mostly this week oi ‘ave been farming … in Central Yarnhem. I’m comfortably taking out all the enemies now and have reached level 26 so i guess i should really go take on the Cleric next.. *gulp*..
I’ve faced him twice before, first when i accidently stumbled upon him and got caught between him and the scenery. And the second time was when i immediately and somewhat preposterously decided to return to retrieve the blood echoes he had taken from me, whereupon i again ended up stuck between him and the wall.
Right… maybe i’ll just farm one more time..for luck ;)

I’m almost there on my second Diablo 3 platinum. Only about 4 million bounties to do for the last trophy. Ok, 175 of them. Do I set the difficulty to “normal” and plough through them in a boring afternoon? Or do I keep at it on a harder difficulty? Which is much more fun. And the only way to get more and more stupidly excessive legendary equipment. I keep finding combinations of equipment that lead to completely changing how I’m playing, which is fun. Or on one occasion, it led to random cow summonings.
I’ll stick to the long way, I think. It might involve upping the level to Torment 5 or 6 soon. And a selection of the longest songs I know of playing in the background (thanks Spotify).
Then the PS+ stuff distracted me for a bit (and still is, really).
And that easter sale finally got to me. So more musou fun, this time of a piratey nature. One Piece Piratey Musou Shenanigans Number 2. I’ve no idea what’s going on and that’s not even the real name anyway. There’s a young man made of rubber and a talking reindeer? And the inevitable talk of ladies undergarments. Those wacky Japanese.
But now all my plans to get through those and some of the backlog have gone horribly wrong thanks to Netflix and Marvel and 13 episodes of Daredevil to get through. (Early verdict after a couple of episodes – very good, and a lot darker than you might expect from Marvel)
Carrot381
Gave Never Alone a brief try.
Not overly impressed to be honest. Was expecting it to be more charming. Is it worth persevering with?
Other than that just more plodding through DA:I nightmare playthrough.

I bought it when it was discounted , Jan sales i think. Overall i enjoyed it although there were a few frustrating sections along the way. Still have to complete the end bit but i managed to unlock all but one of the videos along the way, which give some insight into the Inuit folklore behind the game. I was interested in that aspect anyway so that was my reward for persevering with it.
