Rainbow Six Siege Launch Date Announced For October 13th

Ubisoft have today revealed the release date for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege as October 13th 2015. The game will launch worldwide on this date, across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Today’s announcement came alongside the rather smashing new teaser below:

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is inspired by real world counter-terrorist organisations, and puts players in the middle of lethal close-quarters confrontations. For the first time in a Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six game, players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy’s position.

We’ve also got details of the games available special editions for Europe, which are as follows:

  • The Art of Siege Edition – which includes the full game, a collector’s box, a Gold Skins Pack for all in-game weapons and an exclusive 120 page Tactical Guide, detailing each Counter Terrorist Unit, Operators, weapons, and maps.

  • The Gold Edition – which includes the Standard Edition and the games Season Pass.

  • There’s also a Uplay shop exclusive edition, The Tactical Elite Edition, and that will include all the content from the Art of Siege Edition as well as the Season Pass.

Finally, we’re reminded to pre-order, to obtain guaranteed access to the Beta “at a later date this year”. Those pre-ordering the physical version of the game at the Uplay Shop will also receive an exclusive numbered steel book when the game is released.

  1. Really looking forward to this, but the beta will be what tells me if it’s a definite purchase or not. I’m a bit worried Ubi want in on the COD/Battlefield scene.

  2. The Division or STFU frankly.

  3. Wow, didn’t see this coming so soon, especially not before the Division.

  4. May as well prepare the “R6 delayed to 2016” article now.

  5. Unfortunately, I can see me spitting my dummy out and having a complete and utter paddy fit!
The more info I hear on this tells me its looking more and more likely that there isn’t going to be a Terrorist Hunt mode.

    • There’s still plenty they haven’t told us – they haven’t mentioned the single player once, and so far they’ve only talked about 2 game modes i think.

      • I guess so, but it’s the big emphasis on ‘Siege’ which worries me, with (like you say) no mention of any other game modes or single player.
