It’s been a couple of years since the last WRC game was released, but Bigben Interactive are bringing it back to consoles later this year, working with new developer Kylotonn Games. Today sees their first developer diary released, with a focus on building the cars from scratch from the game that also includes a few snippets of gameplay footage to boot.

WRC 5 is scheduled for release this autumn and, when many developers and publishers are abandoning support for the last generation, is set to land on not just PlayStation 4Â and Xbox One, but also on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and PC.

With this, Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo and, more than likely, Codies rally game coming to consoles we’ll be spoilt for choice.
I think WRC and Loeb’s game are out around the same time.

I didn’t know about Seb Loeb Rally Evo until i watched a video last night – it’s still in pre-alpha and all i saw was a snow track so hard to tell how it will end up yet. Still, looks like we’ll have a few choices at least.

Finally we’re getting traction on some next gen driving games!
Now we just need to get some old school classics cooking. Would love to see a new Thunderhawk game :-)

Hard to see from this video what it plays like. I hope the game makes the most of the licenses.
