The evolution of the Humble Bundle is continuing apace, going from its, uh, humble origins as an avenue for indie developers to band together every once in a while and offer their games up in a ‘pay what you want’ sale for a massive publicity boost to a major digital store with regular offers and bundles from all segments of the gaming industry. However, while major pulishers like EA have had bundles and we’ve seen many a bundle that focusses on Android games, the closed markets of digital console gaming has always been off limits. Until now.
Humble have teamed up with Nintendo of America and a bunch of so called Nindies to offer a bunch of games for Wii U and 3DS, redeemable in the Nintendo eShop. These include three tiers of games available, depending on how much you want to spend, and as always you can divide up what you pay between the developers, Humble and Nintendo’s charity of choice, Code.org, who are dedicated to expanding participation in computer sciences, especially amongst women and people of colour.

There will be more games added midway through the promotion, which runs until Tuesday 9th June. Sadly, this time around the bundle is restricted to the Americas – the exact countries included can be found here – and these codes won’t work in the EU or anywhere else, but it’s a big step forward for Humble and indie developers at large that such a bundle has been possible. Certainly, if this is successful, it will strengthen the possibilities of seeing bundle centred around PlayStation and Xbox games.
