Three One Zero has released a new trailer for first person game, Adr1ft, in which an astronaut finds themselves floating helplessly in space and trying to survive. Some of you may have heard of that plot before, and yes it does remind you of Gravity starring Sandra Bullock. However, this game has nothing to do with that and is actually the brain child of Adam Orth, who was the former Microsoft chap that caused a furore over his comments that the Xbox One being always online was a good thing.
Adr1ft was supposed to convey the Adam’s experience of the backlash his view caused, but there doesn’t seem to be any mention of that in current descriptions. The game will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this September, and it will also have Oculus Rift support. Whether that will translate to Morpheus support further down the line remains to be seen, but Adr1ft does look like a game that would work great with VR tech.

Is this the smug douche who told us all to deal with it?
Looks interesting (Gravity: The Game) but I wish his name wasn’t attached to it. Hopefully it will be released on disc so I can rent or buy it second hand.

Anyone any idea why there is a ‘1’ in the game’s title?
I’m guessing that this game will be full of QTE where opportunities to grab things are presented, else the player may spend ten’s of hours just aimlessly drifting.

All the cool kids replace letters with numbers these days. Apparently.
Personally, I am happy to not be cool.

A nice, short, polished first person space thriller. I’ll take that.

So the only way that this makes any sense to me (in terms of the initial idea) is that the game begins with Adam sending out his now infamous tweet. Then Microsoft get such a backlash for it, they decide that the only course of action is to blast him out into space to float about aimlessly & hope that people forget about him – However, they forget to take his phone from him before doing so.
It is then his quest to find the only wifi signal in space so that he can keep causing issues & get revenge on those who wronged him.
Or something.
