Mass Effect Andromeda Exits The Milky Way Holiday 2016

EA’s E3 presser just began and they started it with a bang by announcing a new Mass Effect game. It’s called Mass Effect Andromeda and it takes place in a new galaxy, which should really open the door for a completely new experience in the Mass Effect universe. The trailer doesn’t show any gameplay but features what appears to be a new protagonist checking out new planets before jumping into battle.

We’re not certain which platforms it will launch for but we do know that it’s currently set for a holiday 2016 release.

  1. Hmmm, different galaxy, but same species – Krogan, Asari, human…

  2. The trailer intro was brilliant, had me confuzzled… Red Dead Redemption 2? why would rockstar be at EA? Oh wait, it’s… It is isn’t it.. It is!.. :)
One hell of a wait though.

  3. I wonder if this is set before or after the events in the original games? The endings in the final game were all quite different if I remember right. Or did that only effect the galaxy they were in? Memory is a little rusty. Either way, I’m really looking forward to this wherever it’s set. Hope they are using a completely new set of characters.

    • It was a galaxy-wide threat in the original trilogy, yeah, not universal.

  4. *girly scream* aaahhhhhh I love me some Mass Effect xD

  5. Hopefully, i’ll have a PS4 or Gaming PC that can run it when it’s out. It looks like it’ll be lighter then ME and will go for “we’re on an adventure” feel. I do wonder how they intend to address the Shepard trilogy and i don’t want them to handwave it or set it so far into the future, no-one cares about it as it would be lazy.

Oh and no day one DLC, 3 coloured ending, Bioware.
