Nintendo Partners With Activision For Skylanders/Amiibo Hybrid Figures

With more and more publishers jumping on the “toys to life” bandwagon, it was only a matter of time before we saw some kind of crossover.

Despite being ultra protective of its classic franchises, Nintendo has agreed to a partnership with Activision, lending some of its cherished icons to the publisher’s Skylanders series.

Both Donkey Kong and Bowser are set to feature in Skylanders SuperChargers, bringing their own vehicles and movesets that reflect their storied history in video games.

What especially interesting is the figures themselves. By using a dial located on the base, players can alternate between Skylanders and Amiibo functionality, meaning DK and Bowser can be used with other Nintendo titles.

It goes without saying that both will be exclusive to the Wii U and 3DS version of SuperChargers when it launches later this year.
