Trophies for what appears to be the remaster than no-one ever asked for, Prototype II, have been listed by Exophase, who usually have a good track record for this sort of thing.
Activision have not mentioned a remaster for PlayStation 4 and developers Radical Entertainment no longer exist, having been shut down by Activision following poor sales of, uhm, Prototype II. If Activision are to join the remaster market then 2012’s Prototype II seems a very odd place to start, surely a remaster of the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would be a better choice?
Perhaps they are still trying to make the series profitable, Square Enix’s Tomb Raider reboot only started making money once the PS4 and Xbox One Definitive Editions were on sale. Prototype II did have a PC version so it shouldn’t be too hard to squish that in to the PC-like architecture of the PS4 and Xbox One.

The hell? Prototype 2 make absolutely no sense as a remaster…

A completely unfathomable cash grab, to which I hope they come away with nothing and it puts other publishers off the idea! Some remasters you can understand, but P2, really?!
spacedelete
this is what happens when theres no backwards compatibility and fanboys saying “don’t like don’t buy”. next they will be a remaster of Duke Nukem Forever.
Starman
Make it a double pack with Alien Colonial Marines!
Avenger
No, just no.
Btw, its modern warfare, not advanced. Unless a remaster of a 6 month old game is possible. At this point, I wouldn’t put it past them.

Sorry, there are so many it’s hard to get the right combination of words these days :)

Not that hard – just remember Modern and no number = the good one, otherwise they’re the not-as-good ranging through to utter crap ones ;)

I found prototype 2 an enjoyable romp (& a definite improvement upon its predecessor), but I suspect it would need to be heavily remastered (probably rebuilt from the ground up) for anyone to be remotely interested in this.
Not sure I would revisit again – I guess it may all depend on price? For a tenner I may jump back in for another go, but I seriously doubt it’ll be a tenner!
Starman
Same here, I thought it was a decent game & an easy platinum too. Not so keen on the first but if they actually want anyone to buy it they should put both games on one disc.

STOP THE HD REMASTERS! They are pointless. Please put your resources to use on new projects instead.
Erroneus
If that’s true, it can only be cause Prototype 3 is on it’s way. But Prototype II was a mediocre game, whats next a remaster of The Darkness II or Starhawk?

Not Prototype 2! It’s a bit of a letdown if you’ve played the original and it lacks variety in powers. Oh and it throws out all of Alex Mercer’s development in P1.
Also, why the hell would you remaster a sequel? Why? Do the original as that sold well, not the sequel that many of the fanbase consider to be lacklustre/poor/good/meh. However, if it means that Prototype is revived and Activison does the impossible by actually supporting it to the same degree they do with COD, it could make a glorious comeback, if it’s not generic.

Perhaps they are just using this game to test the remastering concept… a sort of prototype..
