One thing that has bugged me about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the lack of storage space for my gear. I have been on a mission to collect as many unique swords as possible, but as soon as the weight limit is reach minutes are wasted over deciding what to drop so not to be limited to walking everywhere. It seems the lack of storage facilities has led to CD Projekt RED introducing stash locations in patch 1,07, which will be out later this week. These locations will be marked on the map, and you can store anything you want to your heart’s content.
The rest of the patch notes are below.
- A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.
- A player stash for storing items, available in various locations throughout the game. Stash locations are marked on the player’s map.
- Crafting and alchemy components no longer add to the overall inventory weight.
- Books are now placed in a dedicated tab in the Inventory and books that have already been read are properly grayed out.
- Multiple sorting options are now available in the Inventory.
- Alchemy formulas and crafting diagrams can be “pinned”, meaning all components and ingredients required to make them will be conveniently marked in the Shop panel.
- Dozens of fixes for quest related issues, both major and minor.
- A few performance enhancements, including the optimization of FX, scenes and general gameplay.
- Various improvements to horse behavior.
Due to the patch there won’t be any free DLC this week, though that will resume from next week.

The inventory management improvements are very welcome.
Not too fussed about stash points though as I don’t hoard and tend to sell everything that has lower stats than what I have equipped.

This could definitely improve the game, as it’s quite an unnecessary nuisance indeed that you constantly have to go and find some merchant who buys your overweight.
In Skyrim, you could at least jump directly to your storage house, and even the shop was just around the corner, as far as I remember.

Just when I think Cd Project Red couldn’t make the game any better they do this. This I what game patches should be about.
I love the inventory management additions, plus I’m interested in the new “movement controls” for Geralt.
Can’t wait to get back on The Witcher when I’m back from holiday. Although I will miss the free poolside booze.

I’m gonna try to get back into this, I just really struggle with the combat system, even on the lowest difficulty.
