Activision has released a new trailer for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 as well as some details about PlayStation exclusive content in the game. Ratchet, Sackboy, and Sweet Tooth will be available in both the PS3 and PS4 editions of the game. There is no news yet on whether the Xbox editions of THPS5 will have similar, though it would be something to see Master Chief doing some tricks. The European release of the game will fall on October 2nd, while North America get it a few days earlier on September 29th.
The online lobbies will be able to hold up to 20 players on dedicated servers, though these are in the free skate modes. Competitive modes will probably have a lower number of players involved. Activision also reiterates that the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions will not have any online functionality.

Think there are only 8 levels, and 3 of them are refreshes of old ones. The Berrics is in there too. No doubt more will come as dlc.

Looks dogshit imo! Animations and physics are terrible. Levels look poorly designed, tiny and lazy. The new stomp down mechanic basically eliminates having to time ollies. Awful.

it certainly looks better than a PS2 game and it certainly looks better than THPS HD and that was a PS3 game,I had tons of fun with THPS HD and could see me having tons of fun with this,now whether or not it’s worth over £40 is a different matter but I will more than likely pick it up,if it’s day one/full price remains to be seen ;)

its iffy, I’d rather play a demo but I doubt its going to be any better than what Neversoft made. Lots of guys moaning about Physics or animations but I’m not sure, they’ve always been arcadey. Unless people expect it to be like realistic like Skate.

These guys made THPS HD, which was actually pretty faithful to the source material (even including downhill jam, which many hated!). There were a few complaints about ‘floaty physics’, but I can’t say that I ever found that to be a problem tbh – It’s an arcade game, so I wasn’t exactly expecting mini hops for Ollies. As long as you knew where you were likely to land when jumping, it wasn’t really an issue.
I would still like to see a THPS HD 2 that includes parts from some of the games midway through the series though (such as THPS 4, underground 1 & 2 etc).
They can keep the Ride & Shred elements though. No thank you sir!

From the sounds of it, quite a few people would, so its a bit of a shame they closed Black Box. I’m personally not holding my breath on that one.
Although, there’s no reason why both couldn’t exist if EA still hold the rights to the franchise. TH for arcade action with Activision, Skate for the slightly more realistic take with EA.

Plenty of people being a bit judgemental here before the final product is even released (although I get the feeling that in some cases, this was never going to be what some were looking for so it wouldn’t win regardless). I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, I probably wouldn’t care less if everyone was represented by a stick figure in this game – As long as they nail the core concepts (the gameplay, the lines, that ‘just one more go’ feeling etc), I’ll be playing it.
Yes, we have seen better graffiks (which is obviously the be-all end-all!) from other things than what this video is displaying at the moment – I should however also point out that we have also seen a lot worse. At least it isn’t pixelated, right? ;)
& let’s be honest here, other than OlliOlli, can anyone think of any skateboarding games this gen?
