Batman: Arkham Knight Receives An Interim Patch On PC To Improve Performance

The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight was a disaster when it launched, with issues affecting the game’s performance so much that Warner Bros. Interactive removed it from sale. Yesterday an interim patch was released for those who bought Arkham Knight on PC when it was launched, which aimed to fix issues like frame rate drops, low resolution textures, and incompatibility with some graphic cards.

Reduced frame rate hitches
Optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage
Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
More Comprehensive In-Game Settings
Fixed low resolution texture bugs
Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

In addition to the above, we’re continuing to work on the following for future updates:
Adding support for SLI and Crossfire
Adding support for the latest DLC & Season Pass content
Adding support for additional updates such as Photo Mode
Continued improvements and bug fixing for a Windows 7 specific memory issue that occurs on configurations with 8GB of system RAM and some NVIDIA GPUs during extended game play
Continued improvements for Windows 10 specific issues on systems with some AMD GPUs

Batman: Arkham Knight remains generally unavailable for sale from the main sellers, though key resellers have not pulled the product from sale. Warner Bros. Interactive will likely soon announce when Arkham Knight will once again be available from sellers such as Steam & Amazon.

  1. Its good to see that they are getting there with regards to fixing this, but its still sitting unplayed on my HDD, until there is a “final” patch that states, now its fixed.

Besides, its been pushed down my playlist by MGSV and Mad Max now and I still havent finished Witcher3 and Dying Light yet… Not sure when Ill get to this.

  2. Cant comment in the PC issues – played on PS4 – but this is hands down THE best Batman game to date.

I liked the other Batman games but Knight is the first Batman game I even considered completing to 100%. Riddler trophies and all.

Batmobile is excellent – dont get the hate.

    • Yes it’s a real shame for PC players. They should give early adopters free dlc or something as compensation, although I know Steam refunds launched just in time for this.

  3. I got this for PC via a key retailer (it was cheep!). My system seems ok with it, and aside from a few notably=e frame rate issues, it played quite well! I finished the main story line, but thought id wait on mopping up the rest until they did something so I could play it the way it was meant to be.

It is still an absolutely beautiful game.
