EA and DICE have announced that they will be conducting “further technical tests” within the Star Wars Battlefront beta. The additional testing will begin today. Monday 12th, and conclude Tuesday, thus extending the beta by a day.
“These tests are to help us find some extreme scenarios, and that means some players may experience occasional issues such as being kicked from the game or losing connectivity,” say EA. “This is all being done in the name of shoring up our infrastructure before we launch on November 17th.”
The game has been criticised as almost two years after launch, DICE still can’t get their engine to run at 900p on Xbox One. The PS4 version is registering 900p and the Xbox One is stuck on the previous generation level of 720p.
“It’s fair to say PS4’s beta is in the healthier shape,” Digital Foundry noted. “With a clearer image and the better average frame rate of the two consoles, the strong suggestion right now is that the PS4 version is the one to gun for on launch.”

definitely a noticeable difference between xbox one and ps4..i downloaded the beta for both consoles and its way sharper on ps4 and the details are clearer,a good example is on the hoth level inside the caves. ps4 just looks better.

The graphics are smooth, the servers are working fine, the missions are very entertaining, and I didn’t have to listen to one single whining spoiled brat via chat – good times!
EA and Dice are really getting it right, atleast on my PS4.

My only real concern is the price. I find it very steep for what is essentially just an online game.

I must say that I am very impressed with the BETA/demo, the amount of things going on in a single game on Hoth is mind boggling. As a full fledged game only time will tell whether it is addictive and enjoyable as the other main FPS franchises but I would say that it’s kept me very entertained over the weekend and perhaps for a couple of hours tonight…

I usually HATE online gaming but this was quite fun.
I still don’t feel like this is something I would pay full price for though. I played the beta quite a bit and feel like I’ve already got everything I want to out of the game. Sure, there will be additional maps/modes in the full game but you’re still basically doing them same thing over and over again. I didn’t feel it was anything radically different to any other online games I’ve played before. I think I just enjoyed this more because it was Star Wars.

The beta is great fun, I can’t wait for the game.
I find it a bit silly that people are looking at work in progress games and criticising the resolution though (and while I realise that it likely won’t be fixed, it’s more the principle of it). Just people who can’t wait to be negative.
