Podcast: Episode 197 – Prison Architect, Grow Home & Battlefront

This week’s podcast sees us return to our roots, with just Kev, Lewis and I featuring. Don’t worry, we’ll have guests again for you very soon, but in this week’s more stripped down version we kick things off with the week’s news, discussing Guitar Hero Live’s alternative to DLC and the news of a spiritual successor to Burnout.

From there things move on to what we’ve been doing. For me that’s playing a whole load of Prison Architect for review, while Lewis spent a bit of time with the Star Wars: Battlefront beta. Then, of course, we have Kev, who’s been playing Grow Home, as well as working on his latest One Game A Month title, The Guests Are Coming. If you fancy playing Kev’s creation then you can find it here, and I’m sure he’d appreciate your feedback.

  1. To be honest the hello provided by Lewis this week is really funny :P No Wonder you guys tried to start more than once.

I never played Guitar Hero on harder mode than Medium I think. My little finger is completely numb when it comes to playing on a guitar it seems, so I was unable to play on harder modes. BUT even on easy or medium the game is a lot of fun and three colour on the screen are enough. I never played it to be a master but to have a great time and listen to awesome tracks – easier levels give me that :D

Driveclub is great, everyone who likes racing should try it out. Really fun to play.

Well the prison game sound weird ;/ I prefer Harvest Moon :D

I also played the beta this weekend and first of all the game looks fantastic and runs great. But like Lewis said: from a gaming perspective it is strange and I think will require some time to get used to it. The token system is not a great idea (the AT-AT rush mode) and spawning also seems strange (you spawn in front of the enemy or you can spawn right in front of a few enemies). I will not buy the game immediately, but first read a few opinions, reviews.

Actually the game Kev made sounds better than the Grow Home one :P Go for PSV Kev !!!

I asked about the Video Games Live concert because we have one in Poland in a month and I already bought tickets for it ^^ Looking forward to it.
Nice one again crew. Thanks. Hear you next time.
