Sony have announced that that firmware update 3.10 is now live for PlayStation 4 systems across the globe, but it is a minor update that doesn’t add much in the way of new features.

Verified accounts have a Twitter-esque tick by them and can be those of industry professionals such as developers, community managers, producers and designers. You can’t apply for one, you have to wait until Sony decide you are worthy of a tick, and it’s scandalous that the TSA staff have not been given one.
We will post the full firmware notes as soon as Sony get round to listing them.

I would like to be able to buy / change my avatar on the PS4 too. I think you can only do this through the PS3 at the moment.

No, you can use the mobile app to use whatever picture you want as avatar.
But, of course, the mobile app doesn’t run on Cyanogenmod Android devices without G. services installed… :o(

To be honest I won’t even listen to music on my PS4 but the avatar thing is annoying. Other than that the PS4 is a great console and my main console of choice. I haven’t used my PS3 in over a year and my XB1 hasn’t been turned on in months (and likely won’t be until Tomb Raider comes out).
All the features that really count (for gaming/downloading/watching movies) have been improved ten fold when compared to the PS3. So it’s definitely worth considering an upgrade even if you are sacrificing a few features. You won’t realise how bad the PS3 is until you get a PS4 :)
