Co-op play is bigger than ever in this year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and a lot of that comes off the back of the Zombies game mode, which Treyarch first added as a hidden extra in World at War. Black Ops III has their grandest Zombies mode yet, with a big bespoke map to explore, Hollywood stars providing lines for the four characters, and the all important Beast to play as. We explore this as one of three videos going up today, ahead of tomorrow’s launch and review.
Be sure to check our other video featuring the campaign and come back later today for a look at the multiplayer.
This video features footage captured at a dedicated two day review event. Accommodation was provided by Activision, with access to the pre-release game code and servers for this purpose.

I know I mentioned on the previous video that it bored me after a couple of minutes but I have a question to you, Stefan… Have you ever been to a publisher-paid play session and got bored of the game, or thought it was just terrible?

Perhaps it’s partly down to my style of play, the clips I chose for the video, or a combination of other factors? The campaign video, I deliberately stayed away from showing parts of the game which could be considered spoilers, and the first several minutes focussed on early parts of the game when it’s not particularly challenging and is still showing you the ropes.
In answer to your question, yeah, there have been several games and events where it’s not a genre or a game that I’m not particularly fond of. However, these are typically previews rather than reviews – review events are few and far between – which we will always try to ensure are handled by someone familiar and comfortable with the genre.

So excited for zombies, I’ve done all the story Easter Eggs so far in W@W, Blops 1 and Blops 2, and loved them. The story line is incredible detailed and some of the things you have to do and figure out are complex. Anyone who just sees zombies as a horde mode is seriously overlooking it. The humour is also great between the characters.
Really pleased that Dempsey, Richtofen, Nikolai and Takeo are back too! Hope they do more spin-offs like Call of the Dead and Mob of the Dead!

Wow, just watched that trailer and it looks stunning – far better than the single player and multiplayer levels! It’s what I imagine a remastered Bioshock would look like.
