When you think of Mass Effect one name rises above all others, and that is Commander Shepard. For a trilogy of excellent sci-fi Shepard experienced events that changed the Milky Way galaxy. The next Mass Effect will take players to Andromeda, and we knew Shepard would not be the main focus of this journey. The latest teaser has Shepard speak about how humanity are travellers, and it sounds like a torch is being passed on.
The teaser trailer doesn’t show gameplay or in fact much from the Mass Effect universe, but it is powerful in a way. It very much feels like Shepard is saying goodbye as the franchise moves forward.

I think Bioware did write themselves into a corner with the rather lacklustre and nonsense ending that two of the lead writers rewrote behind the rest of the writing team’s back and are trying to step away from it. By moving as far away as possible. Still, it’ll be interesting to see how and what they will do with ME:A. Or if it’ll just be 100% third person shooter.
