Another week, and with the nights drawing in, the battering some parts of the country received with Barney blowing through, gaming indoors is becoming a more and more attractive way to spend your evening.
In Aran’s case, the last few weeks have seen him simulating an outdoor sport with Football Manager 16. He’s been guiding Southampton to glory in the Euro Cup – well, he’s now trying to navigate through the knockout stages now – while holding a decent 8th position in the league at the same time. Can he lead them to the top? He’s hoping that Cassio – his hot tip for a keeper to scout – can help him on his way. Phineas & Ferb: Day of Doofenshmirtz and The Crew: Wild Run are also on his ticket for review, and you can expect those next week.
Dom’s also been busying himself with reviews, spending time with Xenoblade Chronicles X for the future, but also reviewing Star Wars Battlefront over the weekend. “It’s still proving to be a draw,” he said, “despite now having limited myself to only a few of the modes. It’s a shame that I feel like the season pass is an essential purchase though to fill the game out.” Beyond that, he’s been punishing his ISP for having him as a customer by replacing his PS4’s HD with a 2TB drive and re-downloading all the games and patches he had before!
Kris‘ week has been building towards an exciting future project, and part of that required him to play a fair bit of Volume. He said, “I like the gameplay a lot and while the core story is good but slightly cliched, the smaller side stories set around this dictatorship that rules England that are told via notes you find in game are excellent and fascinating, showing the rise of England’s ruler and how he got around a lot of the obstacles in his way.”
Tuffcub’s week has also seen a spot of reviewing, with Superbeat: Xonic’s rave inducing rhythm action, but when he’s been on his PS4, it’s been Fallout 4 in the drive. He’s not as head over heels with it as Dave was in his review, though, saying that he was expecting just a little bit more than being Fallout 3 HD.
And speaking of Dave, he’s been playing just a little bit of Fallout 4 – taking a little break after hammering his way through – a little bit more of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros., and a fair amount of Undertale on PC.
“Undertale is an interesting one,” he said, “as it is a JRPG where you don’t have to kill anything, well, almost. I’ve tried to go as fully passive as possible. Harder than it looks. Only a few hours into it so far, but allegedly it gets really interesting later on.”
As for myself, it’s been another week where I’ve struggled to get into the games I’m playing. I’ve been reviewing the tactical strategy game of Hard West, which blends the Wild West with XCOM and throws in more than a few occult ideas into the mix. While I’m enjoying it, it lacks checkpointing to the more bespoke, narrative-led levels, and I’ve, at times, found myself in a bad position and with a vital character killed, which sends me right back to the start of the level. It can be quite off-putting.
I’ve also been thoroughly enjoying my time with Star Wars Battlefront. I can certainly see where Dom was coming from with his criticisms over the lack of depth and variety to the game modes, amongst other things, but there’s still a lot to like and enjoy about it. For one thing, it looks simply stunning in motion, with incredible recreations of Endor, Hoth and Tatooine.
But now it’s over to you. What have you all been playing over the past week?

On PS4 I played some Rocket League, FIFA 16 (Pro Clubs), some Black Ops 3 multiplayer, a fair bit of Need for Speed and 3 episodes of Back to the Future. I should platinum the latter two next week sometime, but since Black Ops 3 multiplayer (and Zombies) is Double XP this weekend, I’ll only be playing that…just so I can get the Level 55 trophy done asap.
On PS3 I helped my brother on Black Ops (1) – we completed the zombies “Moon” DLC map Easter Egg, and a couple of other miscellaneous Moon trophies for his 100%. I’ve told him he has to do all the Easter Eggs with me in future, as I can’t be bothered to keep repeating them, as some of them are pretty tough!
I also played some MW2. The game still looks decent enough for a 6-year old game, and I still get excited by the overpowered killstreaks. I sincerely hope it gets a trilogy remaster at some point in the future.

Completed Arkham City this week and am rather enjoying getting the riddler trophies. Never thought i would. Just reached 305 and with luck, i will beat Edward Nigma before the end of 2015! Doing the same with Asylum and will do the same with Origins. I also feel very sorry for Harley Quinn due to the events of City and after reading the summary of Knight, she is a very tragic villian. Not that i’m obessessed with her or have several pictures of her as my slideshow paper or going to hit people with a baseball if they view it as weird thus declaring my glorious return as the nutter of TSA or anything.
Also hit a bit of a gaming rut and tried several games to overturn it. Prototype, decent game but failed to get my attention. WWE2k13, played a few matches, got bored. Saints Row The Third the full package. It failed to keep me after the introduction bits. That and it’s sequel is far better.
Currently playing Saints Row IV and it is the best entry into the series! I love just going around and beating the crap out of people and it amuses me when my character does a superpowerbomb to the aliens. Along with super piledrivers and hell, they should have just done a super powered wrestling minigame. I mean, 3 had murderbrawl so why can’t 4 have SuperduperMurderbrawl xtreme? Sadly, i will not own the complete edition on the PS3 as for some reason, it is not availaible over here. However, when i get a PS4(hopefully, in march depending on if i get a job and can afford it along with a bulk of games), i will get the re-elected edition later down the line.
Oh and i should probably put this post into Tef speak.
Me. Play. lots. Games. Me. settled on. Saints. Row. IV. Me. Completed. Arkham. City. Me. find. riddler. Trophies. Me. want. do. Asylum. And. Origins. Me. gets. Banned. for. this!?

Fallout 4 only for me. Absolutely loving it so far and so much to do, it can be a bit overwhelming.
Starting to worry slightly about what faction to side with, there seems to be so many of them and they all hate each other. Nightmare! Sure I’ll be pissing off someone soon. As long as it’s not the minutemen, that guy you meet early on has the best looking gun! I want!

All sorts of stuff from sales. Including a lot of swearing at Bloodborne.
And why wasn’t I informed of the release of Spelunker World last week? Apart from the obvious fact that it only released on the US store. But it’s free, and a good example of free done properly. And the dog is the cutest thing ever.

Nothing major for me this week. Another chapter of Walking Dead Season 2 completed (just one to go!) and have played a few rounds here and there of BLOPS3. Should hopefully Prestige this weekend thanks to double XP.
Avenger
Enjoyed some Splinter Cell Blacklist with Blast71 over the weekend. Warming up to Gears of War UE Multiplayer although I was initially surprised at just simple and straightforward it. Lot’s of Forza 6 and I just started Tomb Raider: DE last night which is also fantastic. Hoping to finish TR off to clear some space for Forza Horizon 2 and Metro Redux which I snagged in the new Xbox sale.

Finished off The Walking Dead Season 2. Despite the lack of game play I really enjoyed the storytelling, but I can see it’s the same formula across their titles (having played TftB Ep1 too) and you could soon tire of it.
I swear though there is a conspiracy to keep me from playing Fallout 4! First Tesco deliver it late, come to play it and it requires a 500MB patch and my internet slows to a crawl so I had to leave it to it; and since then either work or my second job has thrown so much at me I haven’t had the time to contemplate playing it, let alone anything else for that matter. I’m off on my summer hols on Tuesday too so there doesn’t seem much point starting it now… :(

The usual Borderlands 2 co-op with Forrest and Pixel and Dying Light co-op with Forrest, Pixel and berzerka.
Most of my gaming this week though has been ploughing through the dlc tours in Driveclub. I am now back to 100% trophies for both the main game and DC Bikes.

Not felt even a slight desire to go back to Fallout 4. Not looking good for that one. Might trade for Uncharted Trilogy.
I played the free chapter of Tales from the Bordrlands, which I very much enjoyed. Very funny. Earmarked the season pass for a potential January sale.
Next will be the free Game of Thrones chapter. Not a fan of GoT though, so doubt I’ll be into it.

Similar to the title with only taking a break from the nuclear winter of Fallout 4 to go speeding around Endor in Battlefront. Enjoying both, through haven’t had a chance to get far with Battlefront yet.
Finished Lara Croft Go on the commute. Enjoyable puzzle game, but not as tricky as Hitman Go.
