Nintendo Account Service Begins Rollout In Japan

Nintendo has begun rolling out its Nintendo Account Service in Japan, which will allow users to link their purchases directly to their IDs instead of on a console basis. This is an area where Nintendo had fallen behind the times when it came to having a single account for all consoles, but going forward this new service will encompass log ins for all Nintendo based consoles and services.

Japanese account holders can link their NNID now through the official Japan site. New users can sign up too with a social media account if they wish too. At the moment the rollout time for the rest of the world is unknown, as is whether it will get similar promotions to the Japanese market. For example in Japan if a player spends 1000 yen they get 100 yen back to spend.

  1. That is such a dull title. It’s good to see that they are finally getting up to speed with the whole transactions not being tied to the console thus losing everything if the console should die. Still, the NAS is just a dull name. Why not erm….. actually, i have no examples but i ain’t in charge of naming stuff. If i was, this site would be called Lord Bum Bum Sugar Woogie Puffs presents The Sixth Axis and not that TSA that loves to do things that i am not allowed to say lest i get a warning and sent onto the Steven Step again. With onions.
