Triad Wars Is Closed Down Before Exiting Beta

Development of United Front’s Triad Wars, a PC only spiritual successor to Sleeping Dogs, is to cease despite the game never exiting the closed beta stage.

“Since the start of the Triad Wars Closed Beta this year, diligent Enforcers have run rampant through the streets of Hong Kong, killing rivals and building Empires,” explains a blog post. “During this time we have gathered immense amounts of feedback, information, and data on the game. We’ve loved seeing how you’ve played Triad Wars but we know it wasn’t right for many of you so we’re letting you know today that we are going to close the beta and service on January 20th 2016 at 12 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.”

The game will continue to run up until closing, but beta testers will not be able to purchase new Gold to spend in game. There will also be refunds  for any unused Gold that has been purchased.

As far as we know Triad Wars has been the only project United Front have been working on, so closing it must have been a difficult financial decision.

  1. Closing the beta isn’t ceasing development though.

Could pull a Final Fantasy XIV

    • True, but the current game is dead, which is the point :)
