Ubisoft has announced that it will extending The Division’s beta until Tuesday, in part to allow players who received keys in later batches to get the most out of the event. The new end time for the beta is now Tuesday February 2nd, 12PM CET/6AM EST/3AM PST. Ubisoft are sending out beta keys to those who signed up for access and were put on a waitlist, so check your inboxes as you may have now received a code.
The Division’s beta gives access to the opening couple of missions of the campaign as well as a handful of encounters and activities. There is also access to the Dark Zone where players can either co-op or compete with each other for the resources that are scattered about. If you do go in Dead Zone don’t go alone because groups of players will target you, as I found out in quite a brutal manner.

It was just the one main mission, and it’s the dark zone not dead zone lol (a freudian slip?).
The DZ is a bit brutal when other players are in gangs. I mainly roam with an M870 express shotgun, that usually deals with one or two thieving bastards, although there’s no much that can be done about a gang of three or four.
I’m glad I deleted the beta just before reading this news. It’s been addictive in an unhealthy way and it’s best I don’t play anymore. Already done 16 hours, more than most full-game single player shooters give out.
