Sega Announce Dawn Of War III For 2017 Release

For the first time since Sega acquired Relic Entertainment in 2013, they’re back to work in the Warhammer 40,000 universe and in the Dawn of War series, as they announce Dawn of War III.

While the original Dawn of War and its many expansions built upon the formula they created in Company of Heroes, but Dawn of War II closed in on a smaller and more intimate conflict. Dawn of War III looks to combine the two, with the heroes and customisation of the second game, but the scale and scope of the original. The announce trailer depicts the grand battle between Space Marines, Eldar and Orks.

As Executive Producer Stephen MacDonald said, “This is the Dawn of War that fans have been waiting for. Our biggest units ever? Check. Giant orbital lasers? Check. Base-building, epic heroes, huge battles, it’s all in there. Get ready for the biggest Dawn of War yet. For the Emperor!”

Sadly it’s not out until 2017, but given the time of year, I’m sure there’s more Dawn of War III news coming in the not too distant future…

  2. Excellent! I’m useless as strategy games but loved the first two Dawn of Wars. Fingers crossed this comes to consoles in some form.
