Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Closed Beta Will Now Begin October 25th

CD Projekt RED has confirmed that the closed beta for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game has been pushed back from September, and a new start date of October 25th taking its place. The September window was announced during E3 but it appears that the game won’t quite be up to standard to allow members of the public to test it on a large scale.

Unfortunately, we feel we need some extra time with the game before we hand it off to you for testing. We know we can make a first impression only once, and want to be sure everything is ready before we blast off. Delivering a good game is more important to us than keeping a deadline. Still, that doesn’t mean we don’t realize that delays can be disappointing, and we apologize for making you wait.

  1. So excited to play this. If CDPR think they need more time though, by all means take it. If the development and support of Witcher 3 is anything to go by, the beta will be in a state that most games other are on release, and the actual release will be in a state most games are after three months of patches and a load of dlc.
