Destiny: Rise Of Iron’s Private Match Feature Is Now Live

Rise of Iron isn’t out until next Tuesday, but Bungie have already released on of the tentpole new features for the most loyal   of the game’s fans. Private matches went live last night, announced during the first ever Destiny competition, which was hosted by Activision-owned Major League Gaming.

This is only available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the PS3 and X360 versions of the game having been mothballed last month, but lets you set up your Crucible match how you please, picking from 18 competitive modes on any of the game’s maps.

That link up with MLG points toward where Bungie can take Destiny now that the feature’s in place. Might we see some official eSports being run with Destiny in the near future?

  1. Yippie… a bit on the late side, 2 years in to the game.
    will try it tonight.

  2. Because obviously 2 years after release, it makes perfect sense to reduce the number of players you can play against.

No, wait, hang on, I got that wrong. What I meant to say was Bungie are a bunch of idiots.

  3. A private match is a feature in DLC?

I…. you…. Now i am feeling old! I mean, that never used to be a DLC feature in general. Only a few years ago, you could have private matches without having DLC and really? A….. just no. NO to the entire concept of features like these in a MP oriented game being DLC instead of in the game. No. No. Yes in that I will say no. No. No. No. NOOOOOO.

And really, Bungie? Killing off the Last Gen versions after 2 years? Even EA wait at least 3 years before killing servers. Usually.

Not really giving much hope. I mean, what’s to stop them from killing the servers once D2 is announced and released?

  4. Okay, despite this being two years late, THIS IS TWO YEARS LATE!!!
Had a blast doing some matches with the guys.

  5. Disappointed! I thought that said The Rise of Iron’s Privates…

    • Iron privates?? I believe you can buy those from specialist shops. And probably Amazon.

Although they will be cold and uncomfortable and probably go rusty if they get wet.
