There’s another game to add to the list of those that support the PS4 Pro and HDR. Announced a couple months back, The Witness’ PS4 Pro and HDR supporting patch has just been released today, and with a few options for players to choose between.
If you’re on PS4 Pro you’ll see the following three possibilities:
- 1080p, 60fps, 4x MSAA when outputting to a 1080p screen
- 1440p, 60fps, 2x MSAA with text and UI rendered at 4K
- 2160p, 30fps, 2x MSAA
The 1080p option only applies when outputting to a 1080p screen, and it sadly doesn’t seem like you can choose to play with either of the higher options and supersample down – it’s still downloading for me, but going off disappointed posts on NeoGAF this is the case. It’s still an improvement over the standard PS4 where the game still runs at 900p 60fps with 2xMSAA, albeit with the addition of HDR.

My favourite game of the year, and I noticed the improvement immediately upon starting it post-patch. Running a PS4 Pro on a normal 1080p screen.
