Today’s the big day, if you want to load up your credit card with games and other bits and pieces on the cheap. There’s deals all over the internet, not to mention some that are exclusively in store, and we’ve picked out some of the best one.
Obviously, check out the prices on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Nintendo eShop and Steam, but there’s tons of sales elsewhere.
Update: we’ve added a few new deals, which can be seen in italics.
Titanfall 2 for £20
Titanfall 2 is great. Go and get Titanfall 2. It’s £19.99 if you have a HMV nearby that you can swing by, but if that’s not possible, then it’s still pretty cheap elsewhere (the price matches all sold out very quickly overnight). SimplyGames have it for £24.99 on console, it’s £28 on Amazon, but if you’re after it on PC and can wait a day or two for delivery, a code in box is £19.99 from Amazon.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for £24
Another in store one, but you’re much more likely to have a Sainsbury’s near you these days. They have Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for £23.99 in store, which is a pretty good price if you’re on the fence about picking it up. It could be worth that for the code on its own.
At the same time, you’d quite likely want to get the Legacy Edition with Modern Warfare Remastered. Game and a number of other places have all come down to £49.99 on that.
Amazon drop recent games below £33
Neither Dishonored 2 nor Watch Dogs 2 have been selling too well either, so getting them both down to around £30 ought to help. Amazon have Dishonored 2 for £30 and Watch Dogs 2 for £32. (You can actually get WD2 slightly cheaper for £30 at Grainger Games)
There’s also:
- Battlefield 1 for £32
- FIFA 17 for £30
- Gears of War 4 for £22 (price matching Argos below)
- Forza Horizon 3 for £24 (price matching Argos below)
- Doom for £15 (as below at Argos)
- Doom with Season Pass for £20 (Amazon exclusive – thanks MrYd)
- Fallout 4 for £13
- Overwatch for £25 (also at Tesco)
Game get good-ish
They’ve also got Dishonored 2 for £30, Doom for £15, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for £20, PES 17 for £30, Dark Souls 3 for £22 and plenty more.
Check out their Black Friday area here.

Ultra HD and HDR TVs
Black Friday’s about much, much more than just games. If you’ve got yourself a new PlayStation 4 Pro or are planning on getting one, then having a 4K Ultra HD TV is an absolute must to getting the best out of it. Preferably with HDR support, but even without, the step up in resolution can be a big deal.
If you just want to get a foot onto the 4K ladder, Samsung’s KU6020 series has 4K and can accept a HDR signal but won’t be able to display it. You can get a 40″ one for £339 at eBuyer or £349 elsewhere – we’d recommend getting to Richer Sounds or John Lewis for their longer warranties.
Sony’s XD80 is one of their best for gaming, with the lowest input lag in their 2016 range – around 30ms – and it does feature a wider colour gamut to make use of HDR signals. The 49″ model can be found for £649 at John Lewis, but you can reportedly use code TVS10 and Argos will drop to £602.10.
Back to Samsung, and their lowest price UHD Premium series, the KS7000, has come well under the £1000 mark. The 49″ KS7000 is £879 at Richer Sounds, Currys, John Lewis and probably other places as well. You can step up to the 55″ for £80 more; it’s £949 at Richer Sounds, Currys and John Lewis.
But can you really say no to OLED? LG’s TVs really are quite staggeringly good looking. It’s just a shame that they cost so much. Still, you can get the 55″ B6V which has 4K and HDR and it’s £1899 when using code BLACK100 at Richer Sounds, or without a code at John Lewis and Amazon. Again, we’d personally go with Richer Sounds and John Lewis for their improved warranties.
Look, we’ve barely scratched the surface here, so holler in the comments if you’ve seen some cracking deals that we’ve missed.

Nice. Picked up Watch Dogs 2, Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1.

Lots of variety there, but nothing in particular for myself. I nabbed pretty much everything in separate special offers a while ago, and there’s not much point in buying everything under the sun if I won’t have the time to play it. I did nab the full limited collector’s edition for Halo 5 for £26 just for the extras, and Killzone SF for £7.99.
Mulling over a couple of games seeing as XBL Rewards gave me £30 credit, Doom looks quite good, and Life Is Strange.
MrYd
Not only does Amazon have Doom for £15, they’ve got an “exclusive” bundle with the season pass for £20. An extra £5 for the season pass makes it a “sure, why not?” thing rather than “£30 for some extra maps???” deal.

Ahh so I bought Titanfall for £31 last week digitally and its £28 on Amazon now. Knew I should’ve waited. Sodding PS with their tempting 43% off code….
I’ve just bought Hitman as I was holding out until that dropped in price and with Titanfall 2,that should keep me going until xmas. I have watch dogs 2 waiting for me as a present so that should be a nice variety of games to take me into the new year.
Some good deals from Argos I must say.

There’s all sorts out there atm to be honest. I noticed you mentioned the Sony Xd80, well that’s going for £559 for 43 inch VA panel on Amazon, there’ll just be a delay in shipment.
The Division is a tenner on the Xbox One via CDkeys plus Halo MCC for a fiver.
Theres also a code on hukd for now TV 3 months for £3.
MrYd
CDkeys are obviously struggling to run a website in any sort of competent manner. Almost as if they weren’t expecting anyone to buy anything today. It’s not as if anybody’s done any sort of online shopping on this particular Friday in previous years, is it?
Is the Now TV deal really 3 months for £3? Looks like Sky are doing a deal for £5 for 3 months (or 2 months of Sky Cinema) themselves. (Or £25 for a month of sport, which is hilarious). For new customers only, but possibly not a bad deal if you want to watch a few films over christmas.
Avenger
The Now TV offer is via some other route, essentially a code that was spread on Hukd. It worked for me as a current customer. Can post the code if anyone is interested, it’s for entertainment only?
CDKEYS is funny, but Game and the like were no better last year. The irony is that for the long queue they don’t really have anything particularly fantastic.
MrYd
Game were being a bit crap last night. You could look at things, add them to the basket, and then it failed when you tried to log in. So I gave up.
Then got an email this morning saying “you left something in your basket”. So at least they managed to get the important emails out ;)
Then they failed to deliver emails like “you bought stuff”. Glad they’ve got their priorities right.
They did have some bargains though. Stupid prices the rest of the year of course.
