It really depends on how you want to look at it, but Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has been labelled our Christmas number 1 in the UK, after it held onto the top spot last week. Personally, I think it’s a little bit too early to say that, considering that Christmas Day fall on a Sunday this year, between when the charts are collated on a Saturday before being reported on the next working day. So shouldn’t next week’s charts determine what the UK Christmas number 1 is?
It’s likely an exercise in semantics, as Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, FIFA 17 and Battlefield 1 held steady in first, second and third for the week ending on 17th December. Behind them, Watch Dogs 2 climbed up to fourth and Grand Theft Auto 5 reappeared in the top 10 in fifth. Retail discounts also helped Dishonored 2 and Steep both break into the top 10.

Even if “thing that sells the most in the week before christmas” was something anyone really cared about these days, it’s unlikely to change in the next few days, is it?
Nothing else being released that might upset the positions. And CoD is still at number 1 after all those weeks, and suddenly gets cheaper? Tesco keep popping up on Twitter to say it’s just £25 now. Other offers may be available.

That’s quite a drop for The Last Guardian, although similar to Dead Rising (another exclusive).
It would be good to see the separate editions of COD, I bet it’s mostly being driven my the COD 4 remaster.
