The Ratchet & Clank Movie Is Now On Netflix

Galactic rangers on tour.

Just a very quick update for anyone thinking of chucking on a film as we cautiously tip toe our way into 2017. Ratchet & Clank, the animated film based on the popular PlayStation platformer, is now available to watch on Netflix UK.

Despite a decent cast, the cinematic spin-off didn’t do particularly well at the box office. Critics weren’t too impressed either, the film currently sitting on a miserable 18% over at Rotten Tomatoes.

Still, if you’re a subscriber and love the Ratchet games, it’s surely worth a watch, right?

  1. I was going to watch The Hateful Eight on Amazon, but now…

No, that’d be a stupid alternative. About 14 times worse than my excuse for not watching it the other night. (It’s 3 hours long or something, and I didn’t have 3 hours, so I watched Pride & Prejudice & Zombies on Netflix instead, which is very, very silly)

Maybe I should just download the game while it’s on sale instead? While watching a film and seeing my internet connection struggle?

    • The game is very good, a good mix of old PS2 platformy shooting and beautiful new graphics. I’m really enjoying the new game + mode where score multipliers and have changed the gameplay again.
Also, my wife works where they filmed the dance scene of P&P&Z, near the start. She got to stay up all night a couple of times and watch them film! Apparently a lot of actors do a lot of really embarrassing breathing and medetating before the takes, I guess channelling your inner zombie puncher is very important? You’re right, very silly, quite crap really, but it still takes pride of place on our shelf!

  2. i hope this your last constructive criticism of 2016…ha ha
i haven’t watched the hateful eight purely because its 3 hours of chit chat..
but watching the girl on the train and thats 2 hours of my life I’m not getting back.

    • I just watched it. It may be almost 3 hours of some people in a room talking with the odd bit of violence, but it’s rather good and doesn’t feel like it’s that long. And even with a ridiculously wide picture (a good 3 inches of black at the top and bottom) it’s a very nice looking film.

Recommended if you like his work.

  3. I spotted this purely by chance earlier and started watching.

    Oh dear.

How is that such a mess when the game is fab?

    • So we should all avoid it then? And possibly just finish off watching Guillermo del Toro’s stupidly entertaining Trollhunters instead? If we wanted to watch some sort of animated thing on Netflix?

      • stop moaning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • because games to film is not the best formula…
      have you seen assassins creed?
for those that know the vague story line in the games will understand the very loosely attached movie plot.ie ginger blokes gets killed but not really dead as he is part of an immersive ai machine. gamers will know but generally no one else will..
this generally goes with most games to movies..

      • Even Doom with it’s simple Hell invades, Doomguy kills demons plot fecked up with it’s film counterpart. In theory, an easy action film to make. Reality? Pile of crap.

    • I think the game is brill despite the story Tuff.
I haven’t seen the movie but in the game the story can make some weird jumps that don’t make sense really.
The thing I was most disappointed with is that Ratchet and Clank are like best buds from the beginning here whereas originally they didn’t get on and learned to work together over time.
Still the game is one of the most fun of the year and an especially good pick in the Jan PSN sale.
      Absolutely gorgeous too!

    • Becuase trying to string a story around an existing game is pretty much going to ensure the movie will be crap. Name one so glad GOOD movie from an existing game franchise. You will struggle…..

    • They tried to appeal to a family audience like they did with their watered down versions of their Future games on the PS3. Well F them. Insomniac haven’t had a good game since Resistance 3. They need a reshuffle.

  4. Awesome! My wife and I enjoy the games so we will definitely look it up.

  5. There was NOTHING wrong the Ratchet & Clank movie! Go watch it!

  6. Watched the Assassin’s Creed film today, epicly bad.
    Avoid at all costs.
