Almost every Ratchet & Clank game is coming to PS Plus Premium

Best Ratchet & Clank Games

Insomniac and Sony are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their enduring Ratchet & Clank series with the announcement that almost every R&C game is coming to PS Plus Premium. Every mainline game, except for the PS4 remake and PS5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart  is either already on PS Plus Premium or coming to the game library on 15th November.

Alas, all of these games will only be available via game streaming. This is thanks to the version of the PS2 games being the PS3 remasters, and Insomniac having released quite a few games on PS3 itself. None of these games can run natively on PS4 or PS5, so it’s game streaming only, and that’s something exclusive to PlayStation Plus Premium.

Here’s everything that will be or already is on PS Plus already.

Currently on PlayStation Plus Premium:

  • Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus (PS3)

Coming to PlayStation Plus Premium on November 15:

  • Ratchet & Clank (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3)

While it’s understandable that the most recent game, Rift Apart, is not being thrown into PS Plus this month, as Sony manage the drip feed of their first party games onto the service, it’s a little mystifying that the 2016 PS4 remake of Ratchet & Clank isn’t being included. Perhaps that’s because it’s already available to PS5-owning PS Plus subscribers, thanks to the PS Plus Collection.

What else is coming to PS Plus Premium in November?

Sony haven’t yet announced the PS Plus Extra & Premium library update for November. This tends to be announced on the second Wednesday of the month – 9th November this month – with the update dropping on the following Tuesday – 15th November. We’re hoping to see another juicy update, likely with more Ubisoft games being filtered in, as they have been since the subscription service’s relaunch.

What are the other PS Plus Free Monthly Games in November?

Long before the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogue updates, we’ve had a trio of new games added to the PlayStation Plus Essential service. These include Nioh 2, Lego Harry Potter & Heavenly Bodies. Find out more about November’s free monthly games here.

What actually is PlayStation Plus Premium?

The PlayStation Plus relaunch rolled out around the world in June, transforming the PS Plus we once knew into a three tiered subscription service that bundles in and expands what was once PlayStation Now. The classic PS Plus is now called PS Plus Essential, giving access to online multiplayer gaming, cloud save backups, exclusive offers and at least 2 free monthly games. PS Plus Extra then adds a catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games into the mix, while PS Plus Deluxe and Premium (depending on your region) adds older PS2, PS1 and PSP game emulation, and game streaming for PS3 and other titles.

Sony has settled into a rhythm with the PS Plus monthly games for all subscribers rolling out on the first Tuesday of each month, before a library update for the Game Catalogue comes in the middle of the month two weeks later.
