Capcom Wouldn’t Let Any Resident Evil Characters Die In The Films

We’re just a few weeks away from the final Resident Evil movie and wether your like them or not you can’t deny they have done well at the box office. The revenue generated by each film has steadily increased with each release and the franchise has now grossed more than $1 billion.

Mila Jovovich has been doing the round promoting the final movie and spoke to Collider, revealing an interesting tidbit of news. The reason why the movies have so many new characters, rather than concentrating on those from the games, is that they need someone to feed to the zombies.

“I am not going to die and you know characters from the game can’t die because you they are owned by Capcom and we’re not allowed to kill any of them off,” explained Jovovich. “So you know Ali Larter’s character won’t die or Sienna Guillory who plays Valentine won’t die.”

Of course that’s not entirely true, Alice has died a lot of times in the series, giving Kenny from South Park a run in the “Who has been killed the most in a franchise” stakes.

  1. Suppose they could kill Alice all the time. She’s not from the games is she?

  2. Good thing Barry Burton was never a character in the games then.

It wouldn’t matter if the film versions died as well, they are barely worth noticing as it’s all about Alice. Alice, the mary sue who is an ordinary human, wait, powers, wait, ordinary, wait, she had her heart stopped but that won’t stop her, wait, superpowered, wait, more powers.

There’s also Nemesis. A major character of the third game. Yeah, I’m being that nitpicky.

Thank god this is(hopefully) the last film that involves Jorvich and Anderson.

Yeah, not a fan of the films beyond the first two. And even then, the second one bugs me with some stuff.

YOU CAN’T CQC NEMESIS! I don’t care if you’re Big Boss, you can’t CQC Nemesis!
