In perhaps one of the more predicted, yet still somehow bizarre announcements, a new 3D Mario game is coming to the Nintendo Switch in the form of Super Mario Odyssey.
First hinted at during the preview trailer, the game will take place outside of the Mushroom Kingdom, and even in another dimension, featuring locales such as what looks like Manhattan, a desert town, and swamps.
In case you were wondering, yes, Bowser has kidnapped the Princess, but this time he wants to get hitched (he looks pretty dapper in that suit!). It also showcases new powers that Mario can have, such as slinging his hat like a boomerang and riding a cat of some kind.
This all sounds and looks phenomenal. Worryingly though, the game doesn’t seem to be launching anywhere near the launch day, instead arriving in time for the holiday season of 2017.
