Steam Greenlight is going to be binned in favour of Steam Direct. Publishers will have to provide Valve with some paperwork (“similar to the process of applying for a bank account”), and of course, a fee. How much it will cost has yet to be decided but it could be between $100 and $5000.
Tormentor X Punisher is a thing, a very pixelly thing, and here is a gameplay trailer. It comes from the mind of Joonas Turner (Nuclear Throne, Downwell), and also anyone who has played Smash TV.

Probing news! The EU are having a look at Valve and five publishers, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Focus Home, Koch Media and ZeniMax, as it is alleged they are using geo-blocking. In short, keys for games may only work in certain countries, which goes against EU regulations.

Skylanders Academy has been renewed for a third season on Netflix. “Activision Blizzard Studios celebrates the opportunity to bring another season of quality programming to families around the world,” said studio Co-President Nick van Dyk. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Netflix on this iconic franchise.”

Steam green light really annoyed me, the quality in games on Steam has dropped significantly over the past few years. Hopefully the new direct thing is better and limits the number of rubbish games. Steam is starting to resemble the App store.

Steam Greenlight is being ditched not because it is bloated and 70-80% of it is pure shite but because Valve just realised that they can get easy cash for doing nothing. Well, even more cash for doing nothing and this will price out the smaller developers who can’t afford 5k. 500 should have been the most. It shoud elminate the shady developers who like to sue or bury anything that isn’t positive. A certain developer that tried to sue Valve itself and destroyed themselves in the process is unlikely to get on it. Asset flips really need to either be banned or discouraged. Steam is not going to change though, it may mean there are less cheap shovelware and more expensive shovelware. Origin is now regarded as a better platform and GOG’s version is well, not bad but only because there is little known about it or there’s nothing major about it.
MGS:TPP:The Porno, i heard about it via jim Sterling. Tis apparently a decent porn version of MGS. I’m guessing Quiet will load Snake’s rifle. Grease the chambers. Great, all of the time to use a quote that seems a bit iffy, I can not recall the ocelot quote about loading a greasy chamber.
That Injustice 2 version of Harley kinda looks like what a cosplayer would do and for a mobile game, the graphics are impressive. Though, a fighting game on a phone is asking for trouble. Pretty sure touchscreens aren’t designed to handle that amount of punishment.
Horizon Dawn having a photo mode is a superb thing and I do think more games should include it. The only PS3 game I played that had a photo mode(a proper one, not done via an ingame camera) was Dragon’s Dogma and it was nice to set my background to various pictures of it.
Horizon Dawn is a fecking awesome concept and could be the new Uncharted. Uncharted is retired, TLOU(which, i probably should use as a measuring tool but it’s a young franchise) may be the new UC but HD could be very interesting and could be a killer app.
