Last week there was confirmation for PSVR exclusive title Farpoint’s release date, with coming out on May 16th in North America and May 17th in Europe. While the game is playable with the Dualshock 4 there has been a push to pair it with the soon to be released PSVR Aim Controller, and now we have a price. If you want Farpoint by itself you’re going to have to spend €59.99/£49.99, but get a bundle containing the game and controller and that cost goes up to €89.99/£74.99.
As far as we can see the only way to currently get the Aim controller is in the bundle, with no retailers stocking it separately. Developer Impulse Gear has also confirmed that Farpoint will have online co-op play from launch as well. Those who pre-order Farpoint standalone or with the Aim controller will receive a bonus of a different suit for their characters to wear, though as it is first person only your partner will really see it.

Tis quite a decent price though, I am hating the fact that £50 seems to be the new price for games nowadays. I don’t want to spend half a hundred on a game!

It really is quite scandalous really. Spending one twentieth of a thousand of a game. One twentieth of a THOUSAND! Or one twenty-thousandth of a MILLION.

While, lol, he does have a point.. There was no need to jack up the price another ten quid this gen, other than maximizing profits.
Wasn’t the justification for it, something along the lines of “Oh, but those extra pixels in 1080p cost money”? If that was true, shouldn’t PS4Pro games cost £200, because they are in 4K now? ;)

It’s too much for a single game! £40 was a decent price but half a hundred, which is as many as 5 tens is terrible. Let’s say that I put aside £100 for gaming a month, that is only two games. Whereas before, that would be 2 games and a selection of preowned ones.
£50 brand new is just too much. Heck, I can’t even spend that much on food, let alone a game! I won’t even spend that much a week on food in the future! Jacking it up for this gen is a crappy move. That said, most do fall in price quickly but still, £50 for just the game is too much. Take into account the various editions and it is potentially £100+.

I think the argument is that games are so much more expensive to make these days. But… to counter that, there are more gamers than ever, so more people buying the games.
Personally, I’d never buy a game at full price, especially not at £50 a pop.
I’ve read a few reports that some games will be upwards of £10 more to buy on the Switch than on PS4/XB1. So it could be worse.

Game looks good but like many others I have just bought the move sticks (finally coming back in stock) then they release this. If the ones I have are not compatible I won’t be happy. If it is then I’ll complaint about the price but will most likely still buy it ;)
