Yesterday’s World Water Day saw Niantic launch a new in-game event for Pokémon Go to celebrate all things water. Running until 29th March, you’ll be more likely to bump into Magikarp, Squirtle, Totodile and their evolutions when you’re out and about, and Johto water-type Pokémon will be more common in areas where water-type Pokémon have generally appeared.
Oh, and for the fashion forward out there, you can now stick a Magikarp on your head for free.

Shiny Pokemon are in the game now too!
Caught a shiny Magikarp last night. In two minds as to whether to evolve this one into Red Gyarados or wait and hope I catch a stronger one.
