Square Enix has announced that NieR: Automata (our review) has shipped a combined total of 1.5 million copies on PlayStation 4 and Steam.

It’s an impressive figure, especially when you consider the estimated 0.62m lifetime sales of its 2010 predecessor.
Despite a fairly lukewarm reception, NieR would eventually resurface as a more action-orientated game with PlatinumGames at the helm.
