Given the huge success of Dying Light, you’d have to expect that a sequel is in the works at Techland. There’s still plenty of love for the original game and the community that has built up around it though, Â and so they’ve announced that there will be 10 DLC packs coming over the next 12 months, supporting the game well into 2018. Not only that, but they will all be free!

The writing’s on the wall… we’re continuing supporting #DyingLight with 10 free pieces of DLC over 12 months. pic.twitter.com/A93hmevbfT

Beyond that, next to nothing is known, as they’ve admitted via Twitter that few plans are set in stone, but that we can expect new enemies, gameplay mechanics, mysteries and new locations. That final point is pretty big, but don’t expect to see anything on the scale of the paid expansion The Following that came out at the start of 2016.
No firm details right now, but you can expect new enemies, gameplay mechanics, mysteries and even new locations.

No time frame yet but it won't be long

With that in mind, it sounds like a great time to pick the game up in a Steam midweek sale, with the Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition at 60% off.

Dying Light was terrifying. I picked up the Enhanced Edition for the PS4 last week because I haven’t played The Following DLC yet, so this is a nice surprise.
Kinda wish they were making a sequel instead though.

Literally bought Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition from ShopTo a few days ago for under £14. Arrived yesterday.
Big smile! ?

Every time I loaded this game, I felt dread. It’s one of the few games I can think of that made me feel genuinely anxious whist playing — but something kept bringing me back for more.
I found the whole thing unnerving. I think it’s the sounds of the infected and the background noise. Or maybe the fact that you never really feel safe. There are safezones but you know you’ll have to leave eventually and face what’s waiting for you outside.
Staying out too late after sundown and having to leg it back to your safehouse in the dark, whilst being chased by a group of snarling infected, is probably one of the scariest things ever.
Enjoy :D

Just cos they haven’t announced a sequel doesn’t mean they aren’t making a sequel. ;)

Highly impressive support. When the time comes I’ll pull it back off my download list.
