We were expecting that this years PlayStation Experience showcase would continue the momentum from Paris Games Week with Sony revealing a load of new games in a bid to take attention away from the Xbox One X. It appears that is not the case, this year’s show will be rather less bombastic than previous years.
“On Friday night, we’ll have a special presentation with opening remarks, special guests and game updates to talk about. We’re not calling it a Showcase given that we’re coming a few weeks off of Paris Games Week, but we’ll have some cool content to share,” commented Sid Shuman, director of PlayStation social media, on the PlayStation Blog.
If a couple of game updates and special guests are enough to get you out of bed for 4am on Saturday December 9th then you will see Sucker Punch’s Ghost Of Tsushima, and the game which is fast becoming the next The Last Guardian, Media Molecule’s Dreams.
The good news is that if you can get to the actual show at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, then you will find the show floor is 50% bigger than last year. Whoop.

Ah, I can see why. They came out swinging at Paris and the playlist I had for trailers was (for me) better than E3. Still, I’ll miss the Experience this year. It’s quickly become a favourite of mine.

Looking forward to seeing more of Ghost of Tsushima and also hoping Dreams VR is confirmed.
