Nintendo Switch Keeps Setting Records As It Becomes Fastest Selling Console In France

The Nintendo Switch’s first year anniversary is around a week away, and as we approach that milestone that console has set a new record. This time that record has been set in the nation of France where the Switch became the fastest selling console of all time after it reached the one million sales mark. That pushes the Wii and the PS4 down the list, which have historically also performed well in France.

Eventually the Switch may reach the same heights as the Wii, which sold a record 6.4 million units in the nation during its heyday. For now though it seems the Switch’s second year may be just as fruitful as its first year.

  1. Sacré Dieu! C’est beaucoup! :O

  2. Weird, as Nintendo only report shipped numbers…

    I call hype building bullshit

    • I wondered about that, then I wondered how the other companies find actual sales numbers. Maybe they have an easier time tracking console sales because they assume the PSN and Live will definitely get used and report figures for them, Nintendo don’t have that yet so may as well just track the number shipped out of the factory? Or it’s all a lie and they’re just selling containers full of Switches to themselves and burying them in the desert somewhere in Utah, with those E.T. Game cartridges and the hundred odd perfectly good Mazdas off that wobbly container ship.

    • It’s all a conspiracy!

  3. There needs to be some definition for this fastest selling thing.

    Fastest to how many?

I could make one shit console, sell it immediately and say mine is the fastest selling ever.

    • Nobody cares about details, its all about the headlines, people are either too lazy or too stupid to read past the headline…
