Detroit: Become Human Will Be Out On 25th May

There’s been quite a lot of build up to Quantic Dream’s latest game, with years having passed since its announcement and a slow but steady trickle of new trailers and gameplay showcases, and a cast of intriguing characters. Now we know when it will be released, with Sony revealing a 25th May launch date.

The most recent trailer came from Paris Games Week last year, which you can see here:

This trailer sparked a flurry of controversy surrounding the violence and the themes of domestic abuse that it portrayed, and with David Cage’s writing chops questioned. The announcement post tackles this head on, saying that “This game may be seen as controversial as it explores a number of sensitive topics that some people may consider inappropriate or taboo for video games, but maybe this is the most fascinating aspect of Detroit. We hope that it sparks some meaningful conversations and we’re looking forward to hearing what you think about it.”

Elsewhere, Quantic Dream as a company has been put under the microscope with accusations of workplace harassment, and an investigation being launched into how the company has used public funds by the Paris Council.

  1. I’ve never played any of Quantic Dreams previous work, but this caught my attention a while ago.

It feels as if QD finally has the technical grunt to do their visions justice. I will likely give this a go.

  2. Yass :)

  3. Is that the same house from Heavy Rain? Layout looks very familiar. Game looks great. Hope that abusive loser gets his comeuppance.
