The Order 1866 developers Ready At Dawn spread their wings last year with the release of Deformers, a cute brawler which was one of the first games to be published by US retailer GameStop and exclusive to GAME here in the UK.
However, it didn’t get particularly good reviews, in fact it didn’t get many reviews at all looking at Metacritic, and now the studio has announced the development on the game has ceased and the online servers will be shut down. “It became clear that Deformers was no longer financially viable in the West and in Europe,” say Ready at Dawn.
May 11th, 2018 — After much deliberation, Ready At Dawn has made the difficult decision to shut down Deformers servers in its Western and European markets on August 9th, 2018. All development on the Western/European version of Deformers will cease effective immediately, and as part of this transition, all physical and digital purchases of Deformers and real-money Strand Pack purchasing will be disabled.
Beginning today, all Workshop items will be available for free so that everyone has the chance to unlock all Forms and Styles for continued use in offline play. We will also be automatically unlocking all Forms and Styles for all accounts prior to the server shutdown.

I absolutely love the game and so whilst I’m really sad that the game didn’t go down well (I’ve never been able to play a game of the football variant online) – I’m glad they are letting the game live offline with all the forms. The fact you could only level up and unlock those forms with online play was the single biggest annoyance of the game.

Remember reading about this game ages ago. Didn’t realize it had been released tbh.
