The Uncharted Movie Is “Close To The Starting Line”

The Uncharted movie is slowly edging it’s way out of development hell with Spider-Man’s Tom Holland confirmed to play a young Nathan Drake and Stranger Things producer and director Shawn Levy on-board to direct the project.

Shawn recently spoke to The Playlist and was asked if Uncharted or another project, a remake of the 80’s movie Starman, was next.

“I mean, as of right now, the closest to the starting line is “Uncharted” in that it’s a massive title. We now have a very good script and we have our star in Tom Holland,” said Shawn. “That is now subject to schedule and additional casting. But I would say as of right now, that seems to be the most near horizon. And it’s a movie I’m very excited about. ”

Whilst the adventures of a young Nathan Drake may not be the Uncharted fans have wanted to see on the big screen it does mean that they don’t have to worry too much about sticking closely to the plot of the games. Uncharted’s 3 and 4 did feature flashbacks to a young Nathan but indications are the movie will completely ignore these.

Nathan Fillion recently released a fan film in which he played the older Nathan Drake and it’s rather good, check it out below

  1. The games are that good, the film is almost doomed to fail. Still has me hugely interested as to how they can develop and create this, taking details from the games whilst staying in their own lane.

They must get the correct creatives in or its a no-go. Whenever I hear of these I think of Doom and how horrifically bad that was [I couldn’t finish it] when the games were simple, but awesome.
