Japan has been rocked by natural disasters in the last few days, as Typhoon Jebi left millions without power across Osaka, Kansai, Shikoku and Chubu – it even blew the ‘N’ off the Nintendo HQ – and now the northern island of Hokkaido has been struck by a 6.6 magnitude earthquake overnight.
Our thoughts naturally go out to those affected by these events, but thankfully only a small number of deaths and injuries have been reported. In the wake of these disasters and with warning of aftershocks, Nintendo have decided to delay the Nintendo Direct that was scheduled for tonight.
Due to the powerful earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan, we have decided to delay this week’s planned Nintendo Direct. We will provide a new time and date in the near future. Thank you for your understanding. pic.twitter.com/rr2RDW3jFv

Completely understandable. Suspect the Direct will be pushed into next week.
