After having to postpone last week’s intended Nintendo Direct – due to a major earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan – Nintendo has been rescheduled the event for this very evening at 11pm (UK time).
The broadcast will last for approximately 35 minutes and feature both upcoming Nintendo Switch and 3DS titles. That’ll probably mean even more footage of the latest Smash Bros, though fingers crossed for some cheeky glimpses of Metroid Prime 4, Fire Emblem: Three Houses and – if we’ve been a lot more nice than naughty this year – Bayonetta 3. In truth, a bunch of things have already leaked or been separately announced, but we’re sure there will be some surprises.
There will also be more information about the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership service that begins in Europe on the 19th of September. It has been promised that a ”seven-day free trial will be available for all Nintendo Account holders”. Compared to the 18 months of free online we’ve had so far, that’s a bit cheeky, even if it does include the classic NES games.
You can watch Nintendo Direct on the Nintendo Direct website or the Nintendo UK YouTube channel. Or – if you want to save yourself a lot of unnecessary clicking, you can check it out right here. Why not join the other 188 people currently not-so-patiently waiting?
