GT Sport’s January Update Brings Back A Special Stage

Polyphony Digital continue to add to GT Sport with new and returning tracks and cars. Also Scapes for photos. Here’s what’s in today’s January update, version 1.32.

Special Stage Route X returns, which first appeared as DLC for Gran Turismo 5. It’s got two 12km straights and two huge banked turns. It’s a gigantic oval, which is a bit of a laugh if you’re playing multiplayer and go for the fastest cars you possibly can. Outside of that, it’s mildly useful test track.

More interestingly, there’s eight new cars, including:

  • Porsche 356 A/1500 GS GT Carrera Speedster ’56
  • Aston Martin DB3S CN.1 ’53
  • Shelby G.T.350 ’65
  • Ferrari Dino 246 GT ’71
  • Nissan Fairlady Z Version S (Z33) ’07
  • Honda Integra Type R (DC2) ’98
  • BMW Z8 ’01
  • TVR Tuscan Speed 6 ’00

The GT League has been expanded with the Z Heritage beginner leauge, as well as new rounds for Stars & Stripes, Vision Gran Turismo Trophy, X2014 Nations Cup and Gr. 1 Prototype Endurance Series.

And the Scape you’ve all been waiting for is Cambridge!

  1. Special Stage Route X isn’t the most challenging track in the GT world. There are a lot of tracks I would pick before this one, like, well just about every other track featured in GT games.

  2. Exactly, what’s the bloody point of this. Grand Valley Speedway, just add that already. Followed by seattle!

  3. Loving these cars, loving the regular free updates, but this as a main update track is a bit ‘meh’.
